BIOGRAPHY
Thiago Genthil – Singer, Actor, Composer and Multi-Instrumentalist Born in Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Genthil embodies the essence of Brazilian music, a singer, actor, composer, and multi-instrumentalist whose voice bridges the sensuality of bossa nova, the pulse of Afro-Brazilian rhythms, and the expressive freedom of jazz.
Returning from another European tour, with 21 performances that enchanted audiences across the continent, Thiago continues to expand his international presence and artistic journey.
With two original albums, an EP, and 35 released songs available on all digital platforms, his music unites poetry, groove, and emotion. His debut album, Thiago Genthil (2012), received enthusiastic praise from both audiences and critics, featuring collaborations with major figures in Brazilian music such as Tomás Improta (Caetano Veloso), Marcelo Martins (Djavan), and Jessé Sadoc (João Bosco).
The success of this work earned Thiago an invitation to the Java Jazz Festival (Indonesia, 2014), where he performed in duo with the legendary percussionist Robertinho Silva (Milton Nascimento, Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock).
He returned to the festival a decade later for the 2024 edition, presenting Jobim and Other Bossas alongside the Barry Likumahuwa Band, reaffirming his deep connection to the bossa nova legacy through a contemporary lens.
In 2014, Thiago also toured Europe with his original music and performed at the Tribute to Jobim concert at the Stockholm Concert Hall (Sweden), joined by Paulo Braga (Jobim), Nelson Faria (João Bosco), Magnus Lindgren, Big Band, and orchestra.
In addition to her classical guitar training from the Villa-Lobos School of Music (2003), she holds a bachelor's degree in Performing Arts from CAL (Casa das Artes de Laranjeiras), and has worked in theater with Aderbal Freire-Filho, Sergio Britto, João Fonseca, Susana Ribeiro, César Augusto, among others.
Thiago is currently recording his new album singing Jobim, a celebration of Antônio Carlos Jobim’s timeless artistry, to be released in 2026 by Biscoito Fino.
